I graduated with my MSW from Portland State University in 2023. My BA is in Social Sciences with a minor in Women Studies. I am certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Intervention for Trauma in Schools.
My background is in community mental health, contracting with schools to provide therapy to the student body. I was able to meet with youth during the school day for individual therapy, family therapy and group therapy. I have also worked with survivors of sexual violence for three years providing case managment, emotional support, and crisis support.
I have worked with children as young as 4 to 18 years old in a private practice setting and in schools. I have provided family therapy, group therapy. I have experience working with youth who experience anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, family, sexual violence and youth who identify as LGBTQAI+.
I operate using an integrative approach to counseling; I utilize different techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy, feminist theories, socio-political theories, mindfulness, motivational and other interventions.
I believe in building and nurturing community. In times when systems are trying to break down care for the marginalized and outliers, we can come together as a collective to provide care, support and resistance. As a therapist, my focus is on empowering children and adults, supporting them through life and systemic challenges. I have worked with people from various communities and populations, and I understand that each individual has their own unique set of challenges and goals. I believe that everyone has the ability to thrive, and I am committed to helping my clients tap into their strengths. A strength-based approach can allow for the opportunity to identify successes, reestablish healthy patterns and learn new ways to deal with everyday life. I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment for clients to share.
