Shirley Duane, FNP, PMHNP is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certified throughout the lifespan. She received her Post-Master degree in Psychiatric Nursing at D’Youville University and her Family Nurse Practitioner Degree through SUNY Buffalo (1998). She is also certified as a Geriatric Specialist (2018). Shirley has practiced in a variety of settings and specialties allowing her to work with adolescents and adults with a wide range of disorders, including addictions, ADHD, anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, OCD and PTSD. She has experience using both medication management and psychotherapy – primarily psychodynamic which is well suited for clients curious to understand what drives them and how to change behavioral patterns. She specializes in the wellbeing of her clients working on health restoration rather than disease management-providing education on nutrition, exercise and sleep. Shirley’s approach to care is holistic- working with clients as a team to formulate a treatment plan focused on individual’s personal goals for creating and sustaining a successful life.
