Kelly received a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Science and an Early Childhood Education teaching license from Metropolitan State University. From there, she went on to become Montessori trained and began teaching in one of Denver’s inner city public schools. After years of working with small children, Kelly noticed how each child’s environment and experiences shaped who they were becoming. This curiosity eventually led her to counseling. She returned to higher education to receive her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regis University. Her focus as a counselor has been addictions, trauma, and grief. Theoretically, she sees things from an existential perspective and takes a person-centered approach to therapy. Kelly whole-heartedly believes that the therapeutic relationship is the most important aspect of therapy! She believes it is critical that you have an authentic, open, honest and (mostly) comfortable relationship with your therapist. When Kelly is not working with clients you can find her spending time with her children, pets and plants, and is most likely in a book.
