I have a bachelors in psychology from Hunter College and a Master in social work from Silberman School of Social Work. I’m also SIFI certified. I worked in community mental health clinics for the past 10 years. In addition I worked in a community college setting’s counseling center.
I work with adults 18+ who have challenges with depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, Bipolar, dealing with grief and loss, identity issues, and daily life stress. I also enjoy working with couples and those who are part of the LGBTQ community.
I base my approach on psycho dynamic techniques, Cognitive behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. A large part of my style focuses on narrative therapy that incorporates mindfulness and meditation techniques.
I believe a person is more than just their challenges but a sum of their entire life experiences. Though life challenges can be difficult at times, they help build inner strength and resilience. As a therapist I look to create a warm, supportive and non-judgement environment in hopes of helping one navigate those challenges.
