My approach to care:

Educational background: Clark holds a master’s degree in social work from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, TX. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Texas at Austin, with a minor in Philosophy. Clark is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LSCW).

Clinical experience: Clark brings over 25 years of diverse clinical experience, including work with adults, adolescents, and extensive experience with older adults 65+. He has worked in outpatient private practice, inpatient Psychiatric hospitals, Long Term Care Facilities, and in Community Mental Health centers.

Areas of expertise: Clark specializes in working with adults with depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, as well as attachment issues and Personality Disorders. He in particularly skilled in supporting clients through life transitions, including grief and loss, career changes, relationship issues, and aging related issues.

Approach: Clark’s therapeutic approach is rooted a Humanistic Psychology approach, with the core belief that each of us have within ourselves vast personal resources for change and self-understanding, and that a therapeutic alliance based on unconditional positive regard is the foundation for personal growth and change. Clark also uses a CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) techniques, helping people recognize and replace negative thinking patterns, as well as ACT (Acceptance and commitment therapy), which uses acceptance and mindfulness strategies, including meditation techniques. His practice is client-centered, and methods are tailored to meet the unique needs and goals of everyone.

Personal: Outside of work, Clark enjoys spending time outdoors, listening to live music, and practicing yoga and Pilates.
