Hello! My name is Anita Szalontai. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience working with various populations, in various settings, such as community mental health clinic, hospital, collage wellness center and residential substance abuse treatment. I earned my BSW in Hungary at the University of Debrecen and MSW in the US at Touro College Graduate School of Social Work. I completed a Motivational Interview-training at Columbia University, as well as earned a Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor certificate based on my experience with the population.
I’m utilizing my academic knowledge and professional/personal experiences in specific cases, such as panic disorder, domestic/intimate partner violence, substance use disorder and immigration issues. I also possess information about additional resources that can be helpful in some instances.
I would use the mixture of therapy styles tailored to your needs – such as Psychodynamic, Person Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Narrative to name a few.
My goal is to determine your strengths, reintroduce them to you and show you how to utilize them. In other words, my therapy sessions are strength and evidence based as well as providing empowerment to get you through difficult times.
