I specialize in helping adults and adolescents learn to manage their anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship issues and the after effects of trauma. I apply an eclectic therapeutic approach, drawing from evidence-based practices, to best serve the needs of each individual client. I meet clients where they are in their personal growth journey, promoting their strengths and cultivating insight into the barriers they face. I believe therapy is a human-to-human connection and collaboration that enriches our abilities to adapt and evolve.
I am devoted to establishing a nurturing therapeutic alliance where clients are safe to explore their vulnerabilities and enhance their self knowledge and compassion.
I have many years of clinical experience working with a diverse clientele across the life span. I have assisted individuals, couples, families and groups with gaining greater self-awareness and mastery of life’s challenges. I also have a history of coordinating my clients’ care with the other members of their wellness team when appropriate.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and has received additional training in somatic psychotherapy techniques, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), grief counseling, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from George Mason University and also hold a Master’s in Fine Arts degree from Virginia Commonwealth University with a concentration in performance pedagogy. I received a Bachelor’s degree in theater from James Madison University.
