My approach to care:

Amber is interested in helping you help yourself with compassion, thoughtfulness, and understanding.  Amber believes that it is a privilege to accompany you on this part of your journey as you gain the strength and courage to be vulnerable and gain insight into your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, which will allow you the ability to both make and maintain meaningful connections with those around you. Amber’s goal is to empower clients to tap into their own potential and remove barriers that prevent them from moving forward. Amber also understands how difficult and brave it is to begin the journey of therapy and commends her clients on taking this very important step.  Amber works with the understanding that each client brings a unique variety of experiences and challenges with them and prioritizes meeting clients where they are at and working alongside them to bring their goals to fruition.

Amber’s therapeutic approach is eclectic and trauma-informed, tailoring treatment to a client’s unique individual needs and goals by utilizing many evidenced-based interventions and theoretical approaches.

These include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (including trauma-focused, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Problem-Solving Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. Amber has previously worked with a wide variety of clients in an outpatient community setting and her work with those from diverse backgrounds, ages, and experiences have helped inform her therapeutic approach and work with clients.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Amber has extensive experience and training working with mood, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, LGBTQIA+, racism/experiences with systems of oppression, life transitions, identity issues, suicidality/self-harm, and stress management. Amber’s background in counseling for mental health and wellness has allowed her to bring a warm, supportive, encouraging, and mindful approach to her work with clients.

Amber believes in providing the best care for her clients through culturally competent, trauma-informed, gender-affirming, and anti-racist approaches to provide you with a safe space for you to begin to heal.  Amber looks forward to working with you on your goals of creating a fulfilling and meaningful life through collaboration, action, and vulnerability.
