Myriam Tchatchouang is a licensed therapist who received her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. Her background is in working with adolescents, young adults, and families, particularly individuals navigating disordered eating, anxiety, depression, and identity.
Myriam utilizes a person-in-environment approach and believes in treating the whole person, not solely the presenting issue. She works with clients to explore family dynamics, spirituality, and identity through psychodynamic and humanistic approaches to support the clients on their journey. In adolescence and young adulthood, it’s typically a pivotal stage in exploring our identities and autonomy. It can be difficult to understand ‘who I am,’ ‘where I am going,’ and ‘why I am here,’ which can manifest in emotional and mental health difficulties. Myriam is committed to creating a compassionate space for clients to connect with themselves and build self-awareness and resilience. She works with clients to feel empowered and build a strong sense of self through examining internal barriers such as navigating self-doubt and low confidence.
Myriam is trained in Family Based Therapy (FBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness-Based Therapy.
