Isabelle got into the field of social work because of her genuine interest in and desire to understand what makes people themselves. This desire, to truly know the people she comes into contact with, guides her practice as a therapist. Isabelle strives to create a space for her clients to discover and attend to their emotional experience and believes in a person-centered approach such that clients are the experts of their own experience. Her approach is a collaborative one; she views herself as a partner to clients and helps them explore their emotional experience of the events they’ve been subject to in an effort to help them process those emotions and reach their goals. Her approach is trauma-informed and strength-based and draws on principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Narrative Therapy.
