Thomas Wells, LCSW, CASAC II, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Credentialed Substance Abuse and Chemical Dependency Counselor that has a wide variety of experience working within the medical, addiction and mental health fields over the last ten years. He attended the University at Albany School of Social Welfare. He has extensive knowledge in treating trauma, addiction, complex grief, ADHD, and various other mental health conditions. He takes a personalized approach to meet the specific needs of each person in a collaborative manner. He believes establishing a therapeutic alliance is the key to help move through negative maladaptive beliefs that continue to negatively affect people and cause significant pain, impeding their ability to live healthier and happier lives. He utilizes theories and interventions to help each individual not just reach their goals, but to help them better understand the core causes through use of psychoeducation that he believes truly helps empower and motivate people to allow true change. He specializes in Integrative EMDR that includes other treatment modalities and allows him to look through a lens that gets to the core of an individual’s pain and suffering.
