David Sheinman-Smith is a Certified Dialectical Behavioral Therapist as well as an Independently Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont with fifteen years experience in behavioral health. David received his Master’s degree in Social Work with a Clinical Concentration from Fordham University and attended the American Institute for Psychoanalysis. David’s method for helping clients is based on a customized, and collaborative, process with every client that he encounters. He provides a safe space with confidentiality and without judgment. There, in your therapeutic sanctuary, you can feel empowered to meet your goals and feel supported throughout the therapeutic process. David operates with integrative methods to treatment according to the needs and preferences of each client. The leading approaches that influence his practice include Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, (CBT) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, (DBT) Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, (CPT) Cognitive Processing Therapy, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Solution Oriented Therapy, Trauma-Informed Therapy, Motivational Interviewing including assessing stages for readiness of change and other relevant modalities.
